A first time caller to Lerwick in the last week has been the Norwegian ro-ro cargo ship Elektron seen here berthed at Holmsgarth 4.
The stern view gives a good indication of the vessels capabilities. Designed to deliver large heavy cargo to shallow ports without ro-ro access the vessel has a cargo capacity of 2,000 tonnes, with 500 tonnes being able to be loaded via the stern ramp.
