Yell arrival

Yell yesterday had a cruise ship call for most of the day.

The Professor Multanovskiy (1,573grt)  operated by Oceanwide Expeditions arrived in Burravoe early in the morning and anchored offshore. Previously an ex Russian research vessel, a number of these ships have found new carrers as "soft" expedition cruise ships heading off the beaten path to lesser known locations.

Foula to the west of Shetland (famous due to the stranding of the White Star liner Oceanic) has also recieved visits this year.

This again underlines the popularity of Shetland as a cruise destination.
